I have not had time to blog for so long. I have been trying so hard to get back on my feet, repair my heart and rebuild my confidence,
It has been a crazy 3 years. Life changing on a dime without notice & loosing everything I worked so hard for. Dealing with it all with my learning disabilities and menopause thru it all... Metal health is so important and when you already have so many challenges the huge life dump was more then I could handle.
Staying the positive person I am I just keep trying, moving forward with my blinders on, checking out of Facebook completely and focusing on the things that bring me joy. Its basic self preservation.. I am back and will try to be more active and keeping you all updated with the latest & greatest news in my life including prints I develop.

I have to say Brazil is the MOST underrated countries! You never really hear about how amazing it is!! You do need to be careful!! But its amazing.
I was there for Rock This Town Festival
I was picked up by Lous who quickly became one of my new favorite people!
This is Lous and I with my long time pal Tim Polecat. Tim & I have been friends since 1995 and had not seen each other in years.
My trip started with a photo shoot in São Paulo with Rainbow Pin ups!
Brazilian designer Lola Tangerine created the most amazing collection!! From lingerie to cocktail dresses!! Lola, Lady Cat & I modeled the collection together and it was so fun!!
The Festival began the next day!
Amazing bands, cars and a pin up contest!
After all the R n R Next I went to the most amazing beach home of my dear friends for some needed Rn R of another kind... rest & relaxation
After 3 days we went to my friends beautiful Contry hope outside of Sao Paulo
where I was part of a pod cast and got to try the most AMAZING Pizzi I ever tried!
I feel so lucky to have experienced to much n 10 days!
it was a dream come tru! I look forward to going back with my Brazilian husband.
it was so wonderful to get back to his arms after such an amazing trip.

My move to Las Vegas was the best decision. I am surrounded by new environment and a supportive circle of friends that has given me a fresh outlook and fashion point of view.
I attended Viva Las Vegas 25 with Atomic Style Lounge this past weekend and talk about inspiration! I saw friends I had not see in years!
I was so delighted to see photographer Carlos Kella and his crew all the way from Germany!
It was truly a wonderful festival. It has evolved over the 25 years.
There are attendees from all over the world! From Brazil, Scotland, Germany to Japan!
It was also incredible to see attendees are more diverse and so many from the LGBTQ community and totally embraced as they should be. There was a wonderful acceptance you could see & feel from all walks of life. Its so important to see the beauty in everyone! It's joy so inspiring!
I highly recommend attending if you can. The bands were wonderful from all over the world from Japan, Sweden, England, Germany & ALL over the USA & amazing locals from Vegas!
The pre party for me was at a local Servehzah Bottle Shop and Tap Room where a Los Angeles Cumbia band played. it was FANTASTIC!
I even was maid of honor in the beautiful Rubyanns wedding
I hope you enjoy the photos I am sharing. I am so refreshed and very inspired!
OH! It was also amazing to learn Tom Ingram received the key to Las Vegas! It was official Tom Ingram day!! We all owe a huge gratitude to Tom for bringing this festival to life & keep it funning for us to enjoy over the years!!
Always remember...
Never give up, never let peoples words or posts break you. Reach for the stars, they are yours! YOU are your own magic! Most importantly Be kind to everyone... Smiles go a million miles!!!

Now it's all about how many followers do you have and can they find you and if not how can you get them to find you. That being said my IG account was hijacked about 6 months ago so I lost nearly 50 thousand followers. It has not been as easy this time round. I created my new IG however In a sea of retro brands and pin up girls I am just not going to be found.
Social media platforms have been trying to make money off of people since it all started way back on MySpace.com.
I was off Facebook for nearly a year when my world came crumbling down around me due to the sudden break up of the love of my life and I. When I was finally ready to face the world again surprised how controlled it has become, I can't even share a photo I did for my dear friend Katie of WhatKatieDid.com it was called spam🤯
I tried to throw a bit of money at them Facebook, IG, Pinterest for ads but honestly don't see any results. Obviously I am doing something wrong. You have got to be a real computer savvy person these days to make social media work and I just don't have that. So I will just be leaning more to my own platform. It's way less frustrating and I can post what I like and share what I like. So do come back and check my blogs I plan to update on a regular basis..
I hope you're all having a wonderful day. Mine is just about to get there! 😻

So many businesses have been hit hard and struggling to stay a float. I am no acceptation, it has been the most challenging time for Bernie Dexter LLC. I have done my best to keep positive and supplying new prints and styles over the last year and a half but it has not been with out close calls. Sadly my USA production as almost come to a halt. The good news is I have 2 new prints in production at this time in the USA. India on the other hand has been hit hard. My factory there has been closed for over a month due to the pandemic. Over 55% of the population has contracted Covid so they are on complete lockdown till the first week of June. However that could change & be extended.
Please do know I am working very hard to keep this brand going. It is a labor of love and it is not just for me, its also to support the families in the USA I have been working with in the USA since 2007
and also the family owned factory in India.
Thank you so all of my loyal customers! I Appreciate every single one of you!
Here is to looking forward to a positive future full of beautiful moments in beautiful dresses!

]]>In December 2018 it was a shock to learn my bio father was not my father and that my sister and I were 100% sisters sharing more then 53% of same DNA. I adore and LOVE my non bio father. He has been amazing, a solid rock in my life. It was devastating to learn my bio father had passed in 2011. He had wanted to see me in 1998 but I turned down the invitation. That is another long story for another time.. But my heart is broken over all of this on so many levels.. It was devastating having my Filipino heritage ripped away from me.. But the gift of being Hispanic Native American has been very special. It has been an personal emotional rollercoaster of emotions & forgotten memories surging back like a tsunami from my child hood... It has created a wonderful 2019 DNA collection with the Mexican influence. Ironically the Serape Jackets had already been in the making for a few years, I had been working with the factory to perfect the sturdiness of the blankets we used. I had modeled these jackets after my favorite Chimyo blanket jacket. Even more Ironic Chimayo is in New Mexico and that is where a generous amount my roots are from. New Mexico, Mexico and Spain. ❤️
Dreaded 2020 no one saw coming...
Things had been spiraling downward starting with the letting go of shop staff in Aug. 2019 and the drama that came with all of that . Then my personal life taking an even more unexpected shocking hairpin turn..
March 2020 I closed my shop on Main ave. . It was a difficult decision to make but with it was the best decision. That being said I am still here working hard quietly in my little corner. This past year I have stayed very much to myself and off most social media apart from instagram.
Speaking of Instagram, my original account with close to 50 thousand followers was hijacked. How? I got a message from them asking if I wanted my blue badge, YES I did want it! I had applied for it so many times. Facebook had given me my blue badge out of the blue years ago, so when Facebook and IG merged thought his was an authentic invitation. Sadly it was a trick and they hacker held my IG hostage to get payment. I refused to pay and I watched it dissolve before my very eyes.Instagram did NOTHING to help me.
Since that fiasco I have started a new IG and I have been more active on my Twitter I find Twitter much more fun because I can feel free to post what I want without being penalized for being too sexy. I am also on TikTok as well... So literally it is like a complete reset re-boot for me on social media.
It is all ok, I am just doing what I love authentically as usual. I mind my own business and keep to my point of view. I am not trying to figure out how to be number one or the most popular. I stay away for anyone or anything remotely negative. Life is so short and can turn on a dime. It is most important to me that I can be authentic to who I am. What I want people to know about me.. I love people from all walks of life, I love people for being good caring kind humans.
The website will be down for a few days in the very near future for maintenance and relaunch. It's time to start over completely.
Please do enjoy the sales while they are going. 👗 Your purchases are support not just me but families in Los Angeles and India. 🙏🏽
Love Bernie Dexter

My friend and I took a train to the trade show in London. I had been wanting to go for some time. We really enjoyed the sunny warm weather! It was the perfect day to debut my Chelsea Trinidad Carnival print. I paired with my Luxulite Banana necklace. My friend was in Chelsea Poppy print. It was amazing how many people stopped us to say they liked our dresses =)
People have been complaining about it being too hot but i was really happy to be in the sun & quite comfortable. I made sure to keep a bottle of water on me & wearing 100% cotton and no need for a bra with this dress!!
It was my first time there. We really enjoyed seeing what was on offer. I found some wonderful accessory suppliers and a few fun fashion companies.
We walked for hours! and were starving so we stopped at Pizza Express for my gluten free dairy free pizza 🍕I just LOVE that place.
Iam so excited about all the new items i will be ordering for the Leigh on Sea shop!
I will be showing those items as they come into the shop =D

This print is so close to my heart. This Year I learned my biological father was actually not the amazing man who raised me... Of he will always be my father... However I had known my biological father. He was my sisters father... Yes we thought we were half sisters all our lives to find out we are actually full blood sisters. It has been a roller coaster of emotions. Happy in some ways and devastated in others.
One of the joys of this new found information was to find i am 20% Native American.
As a child my sister and I spent lots of time in Albuqurque New Mexico with our grandmother .
I remember her making home made tortillas, her showing us how to eat home made pinto beans with those tortillas... ahhhh and the smell of roasting chilies.. Oh and her showing us mint leaves... She passed away when I was about 5..
She left me with lasting memories of the smells of her home made food, the silver and turquoise jewelry she had, Indian reservations, rodeos and tons more that fill the senses .
This print is tipping my sombrero to my newly discovered Hispanic/ Native American roots.

Everyone loves vintage! My most favorite Vintage dress was falling apart to i created the Frenchie dress, It was from my first collection. Frenchie because it was black with white shelf bust and it reminded me of a French maids uniform... the new Hildred is the original Frenchie style with a flounce hem, shelf bust and pockets! Paris dress is similar, it has a fuller skirt then Hildred and Frenchie. Hildred is clean classic Bernie Dexter style in the most charming Hula girl print!
